Memories

Stories and photographs of Vince from his family, friends, teammates and colleagues.

A True Mover and Pacer

Vincent was truly one of the kindest, most humble souls I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing. Always helping, always smiling, and always showing up with such a good spirit. Whenever we asked him to represent Movers and Pacers, he showed up proudly and gave it his all. ❤️
I’ll be keeping his family close in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Your presence, kindness, and spirit will be deeply missed.
I’ll see you at the finish line one day, my friend. 🥹🖤🏃🏾‍♀️

Always

This is just heartbreaking. I am in shock and in deep sadness over this.
I had the good fortune to work with Vincent at Comcast for a year. We would often have lunch together after a sales meeting in Atlanta. He was so kind and supportive. We still stayed in touch. He was always so positive.
To his wife and children, family, and friends, you have my deepest sympathy. This is a huge loss. I will always miss him. Always.

A Small But Memorable Chapter

I am absolutely heartbroken to hear about Vince. I had the privilege of working with him years ago when we waited tables together, and although it was only for a short time, he was one of those people who left a lasting impression.
Vince was truly such a beautiful person, inside and out. He had such an amazing energy and made going to work fun. It has been years since I have seen Vince, but seeing his name immediately brought those memories back.

Colleague @ NiCE

One of the things I’ll always remember about Vince was just how incredibly hard he worked. He was the type of person who would always step up, put in the extra effort, and do whatever he could to help the people around him. Everyone who worked with Vince appreciated him—not just because of how talented and dependable he was, but because of the person he was and the attitude he brought with him every day. When we learned that he had passed, everyone was absolutely devastated.

On the Burial of a Friend

Adapted from En el entierro de un amigo by Antonio Machado
They laid him in the earth one terrible afternoon
in the month of September, beneath a blazing sun.
A step from the open grave
were roses with rotting petals,
among chrysanthemums of harsh fragrance
and white bloom. The sky
pure and blue. The wind blew
dry and strong.
Onto thick straps,
heavily, eight pallbearers
lowered the coffin…
And when it came to rest, it struck their hearts with a hard thud,
solemn in the silence.

Carpool Buddies

When I was a junior in high school, I was asked if I could drive Vincent and Brooke to school. I really hadn't spent much time with them, but I wanted to make some extra money, so I agreed. I didn't know that I was in for some fun times and entertainment.
Most days when I pulled up to pick up Vincent and Brooke, they would come out to my car and 99% of the time Vincent would forget something and need to run back inside.

Great Young Man

I will always remember coaching and teaching Vincent at Juan Diego! His smile even during hard practices on the football field and hard work ethic was great to watch and be part of! RIP Vincent I will see you again. Prayers for Vincent’s young family during this difficult time!

We Still Have a Fish to Catch

When I got the call that you had passed, I was literally in shock. I couldn’t speak. It still doesn’t feel real, and quite frankly, it feels like a nightmare I wish I could wake up from. Your funeral service was the most beautiful testimony and tribute to the man that you were.
Looking around at the number of people who filled that church, I was in awe—but I wasn’t surprised one bit. Because, you see, that was YOU, Vince. You were light. You were joy.

My Atlanta Neighbor!

I moved in next door to Vince and Nadia in Atlanta and it was incredible from the start. It was almost hard to believe, how was this guy SO NICE, SO KIND, and SO GIVING and living right next door. Between the evenings drinking bourbon and tequila, helping me do basic household chores that I was useless at, or playing games and hanging out with friends, Vince was always there whenever you needed him.

Chivalrous Energy & A Classic Man Attitude

Whenever Vince’s name comes up in conversation, the first word that comes to mind is chivalry.
Our friendship started back in high school. We went to different schools, Juan Diego and Jordan, but we often saw each other at events and shared a lot of the same friends. After high school, we kept in touch through college at Dixie State and the University of Utah.

Until The Next Release

I’ll always remember the first time I met Vincent—a beautiful summer evening in New York City at Ada’s Place in Midtown, when he and his friend Eddie came to visit. What started as an ordinary night quickly became a memorable one, because as the evening went on, Vincent and I discovered a shared love that would become one of the things I’ll always associate with him: sneakers.
