Vince, Randy, and I—a mini Wolf Pack—loaded up Randy’s truck, hitched the four-wheelers, and headed to the Uintas for an overnighter at the end of July 2026. Xena and Bucky joined us.
I picked up Vince early on Friday morning and got to meet Edilea for the first time. She had just woken up and wasn’t much in the mood to meet a new tío, heh. She was adorable nonetheless, her eyelashes fanning the air with each blink.
Vince and I hadn’t camped together in the Uintas in years, so the trip was extra special. With Vince being a new father, we hadn’t spent a lot of time together in the last few years. Somehow, in the last six weeks before he left us, we managed to hang out a handful of times, this camping trip being the first of those events.
The three of us agreed that, in spite of it being a quick overnighter, it was one of the more memorable, action-packed, and relaxing Uinta trips we had ever taken together.
A beautiful final run in the shadows.
